Lisa Stoner is a seasoned executive with an extensive track record operating and scaling rapidly-growing, highly global, technology-enabled organizations. She has deep experience in the fields of enterprise operations management, business process outsourcing, leading cultural transformation within global organizations, business development and customer experience design and execution.
Ms Stoner has served as the Global Head of Support Operations for Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) since January 2018. In this role, she is responsible for the Community Operations global outsourcing strategy, procurement and invoicing, workforce planning, learning & development, quality assurance and vendor management. Ms. Stoner led workforce optimization, contract standardization, and supplier divestment and integrations during the critical pre-IPO time at Uber. She leads a global organization of 27,000+ employees and contractors working in 6 continents, supporting 60+ countries. Under her leadership, Uber has expanded support across myriad new business lines (Uber Transport, Eats, Freight, Health, Jump, Uber for Business) reduced expanded capacity by 50%, improved compliance by 20% and reduced per-capita operating expenses by 20%. She has built a world-class team of diverse professionals located across the world and she has played a significant part in Uber’s overall cultural transformation via her role as Chair of Women of Uber and is a frequent keynote speaker at external events.
Prior to Uber, Ms. Stoner served as Senior Vice President of Convergys Corporation, While at Convergys, she held a variety of roles leading Operations and client-facing teams serving multiple industry verticals including Telecommunications, Retail, Automotive, Travel, Financial Services, Healthcare and Federal Government. She was responsible for over $M650 of business, and grew her portfolio at an average rate of 20% per annum. Ms. Stoner’s client list included Google, PayPal, eBay, ATT, Cigna, UHG, Humana, Walgreens, Starbucks, Walmart, Macys, DIRECTV, GM, Citibank, American Express, Visa, H and R Block and USPS.
Ms Stoner served as the Co-Chair for Women of Uber from 2018-2020 and was the founding member of the Outsourcing Buyers Forum, a consortium of buyers who purchase a minimum of $100M of services that seek best in class solutions and technology. Ms. Stoner received an MSBA from Boston University and an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Iowa. She has attended multiple executive education courses including a residence course at Harvard Business School for Women on Boards.
Ms Stoner joined the board of Transcom in May of 2021. She is also active in non-profit work. She is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in Georgia and serves on the board of The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, an organization dedicated to serving the needs of sexually and severely physically abused children through prevention, intervention, therapy and collaboration.
